At BSG, we are passionate about equipping young talent with the skills, knowledge and attributes to enable them to develop the mastery levels required within a professional services business. The 2016 Graduate Development Programme (GDP) kicked off on 1 February with 20 consultants and developers, joining the BSG team. The robust 12-month programme ensures new consultants and developers develop strong foundational levels of mastery, which acts as the bedrock for their future career aspirations within BSG.
Each graduate joining BSG undergoes this 12-month experiential learning-based programme. The programme is highly sought after and has been developed over many years adapted annually with insights from the marketplace and also via university advisory boards on which BSG sits, keeping it highly relevant. Currently available to Information Systems (IS) and Computer Science (CompSci) Honours graduates, GDP involves a combination of technical development, EQ mastery and broad-based experiential training. The programme is designed to enable the graduates to gain real-life experience, under the mentorship of experienced consultants and developers.
The GDP marks the culmination of the organisation’s Graduation Recruitment Programme (GRP), which runs from February to September each year. The programme starts with BSG start-up packs, followed by a series of guest lectures at leading universities across the country, hosted by representatives from BSG’s consulting and technology divisions. Other highlights in the GRP calendar include the BSG Internship Programme in June and July, the Selectorthon, which takes place in July this year. All successful candidates emerging from the GRP, join BSG on a permanent basis and form part of the following years GDP.
