Marketing Co-ordinator

We are looking for a detail-orientated, outcomes-driven marketing co-ordinator to join our Marketing team, driving out activity from our Johannesburg office

Our Johannesburg office is situated in Houghton Estate, within walking distance of the Rosebank Gautrain station.

This role will be based in our Johannesburg office. The role will be a hybrid delivery role (WFH and WFO). Own connectivity essential for WFH. Own transport essential.

Intro:

The Marketing Co-ordinator will be responsible for the co-ordination and execution of marketing activities, aligned to BSG Marketing Plan (as defined by the Head of Strategy). Support of general day-to-day Marketing functions, execution of communications plans, campaign tracking support, Marketing operations support (including but not limited to collateral stock and supplier management) and relationship management with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers. This role requires a person to be hands-on, committed to delivery, enjoy communicating with others and can apply practical problem-solving skills..

Main Purpose of the Role

  • Support the Marketing team in execution of Marketing plans across client and recruitment / retention activities
  • Craft and execute (with support and oversight) campaign and communication plans
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the Marketing team
  • Supplier and stock management, quality assurance of branded collateral
  • Events planning and execution support

About the role

  • Support with planning and execution of campaigns and projects (client and people value proposition activations in support of sales, recruitment and retention)
  • Support of day-to-day Marketing functions (including but not limited to sourcing appropriate suppliers, getting comparative quotes and selecting the best option (final sign off and budget approval from Head of Strategy / Head of Client & Risk))
  • Facilitating Marketing production requirements (including but not limited to, branded collateral, banners/signage, external and internal communications material)
  • Updating Marketing calendar, as required
  • Storeroom and stock management (including, but not limited to management of Marketing storeroom and stock levels of branded collateral and quality assurance)
  • Support with internal and external events management, planning and execution (virtual, hybrid and in-person activations), management of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to ensure seamless, quality delivery
  • Social media support: Sharing content across official BSG social media platforms in line with agreed social media strategy (with oversight)
  • Brand Policing: Ensuring brand identity is upheld on all internal and external communications sent by the business
  • Facilitating good relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure that Marketing functions can be carried out in accordance with plans
  • Facilitation of good relationships within the Marketing team, ensuring open and functional communication
Qualifications
  • Degree in Marketing or Marketing-related field (e.g. Advertising / Brand Management)
  • Honours advantageous
Experience
  • 3-4 years’ experience in Marketing or Marketing-related field (e.g. Advertising)
  • Professional services / Consulting industry experience advantageous
  • Foundational understanding in account-based marketing beneficial
Knowledge
  • Marketing campaign development & tracking
  • Account Based Marketing (advantageous)
  • Experience discovering market and customer intelligence (advantageous)
  • Business Development / Professional Services Sales experience (advantageous)
  • Supplier Management
  • Marketing planning (translating needs of the business into Marketing activities)

  • Microsoft Office proficiency (especially PowerPoint)
Skills
  • Foundational level understanding of the principles of ABM, and tools and approaches to be leveraged
  • Foundational level understanding of engaging a stakeholder in order to understand their needs and translate that into a series of marketing activities to be carried out by the Marketing team
  • Experience managing social media channels, creating content schedules, and drafting content
  • Experience maximising exposure from events and profiling activities advantageous
  • Experience managing suppliers from quote request to delivery to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Execution of events management activities to ensure seamless delivery of quality events, meeting (where possible exceeding) stakeholder expectations
  • Good grasp of what quality slides and client presentation proposals look like and being able to work to craft that
  • A good grasp of what is needed to understand target buyers’ needs and based on that, the types of content / collateral to target them
  • Understanding of the professional services sales process and what is needed to move target buyers from unaware through the funnel to purchase advantageous
  • Experience in PR and/or experience managing relationships with PR suppliers, any experience drafting press releases advantageous
  • Experience dealing with print and online media (including facilitating ad bookings, ensuring artwork meets media requirements / specs), experience briefing content for print media & online dissemination into studio (e.g., advertorial / advertising material) advantageous
  • Experience with paid online advertising (LinkedIn Marketing solutions / Google AdWords, retargeting, etc.) advantageous
  • Being able to provide direction to subjects being filmed for various applications (virtual events, sales videos, etc.) to enhance the overall quality of the output
  • Management of video production suppliers advantageous
  • Support the Marketing function in achieving strategic KPIs as defined by Head of Strategy as part of annual Business Planning
  • Support Demand Owners (Sales) in achieving sales targets by activating plans to engage target buyers
  • Support the Business in achieving recruitment and retention targets by crafting strategies and campaign plans (in collaboration with other team members) and communication plans to reach desired target audience, as defined as part of annual Business Planning
