Relationship Sales & Marketing Manager

We’re looking for a dynamic, passionate individual to plan, execute and measure a range of multi-touch, integrated marketing and relationship sales programmes, targeted at specific large organisational clients.

Our Johannesburg office is situated in Houghton Estate, within walking distance of the Rosebank Gautrain station.

Leveraging Account Based Marketing (ABM) approaches to maximise efficiency in a niche market, we have an opportunity for an individual who will be accountable for planning, executing (via the marketing and relationship sales teams) and measuring effectiveness of a range of multi-touch, integrated marketing and relationship sales programmes.

Main Purpose of the Role

  • Leading Marketing and Relationship Sales teams (people and team management)
  • Managing external partners and suppliers as agreed with Client and Risk Executive
  • Define Marketing and Relationship Sales plans and Account Based Marketing (ABM) plans aligned to BSG’s strategy and client account plans
  • Manage Marketing and Relationship Sales activities, processes and systems, ensuring effective allocation of time across the teams
  • Measure and report on activities and effectiveness

About the role

Team and line management: 

  • Ensure a people-centric approach to team and line management, effectively leading Marketing and Relationship Sales teams, including aligned goal setting, continuous feedback and development principles
  • Attract and retain talent
  • Ensure ongoing growth and development of teams in line with agreed individual growth plans

Supplier and partner relationship management:

  • Contract external partners and suppliers, with approval from BSG’s Client and Risk Executive
  • Manage delivery of products and services in line with SLAs

Manage Marketing and Relationship Sales Activities

  • Define annual and 3-year integrated Marketing and Relationship Sales enablement plans, aligned to BSG’s strategy, including an execution roadmap and agreed responsibilities
  • Define ABM plans and integrate these with client account plans
  • Manage marketing activities, including audience planning, content, communication and events
  • Manage relationship sales processes and systems, including sales forecasting, opportunity qualification, presales and proposal activities and commercial contract agreements
  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing and relationship sales enablement activities
  • Matric and relevant tertiary education (e.g., Business Marketing degree, such as B.Bus.Sc. Marketing)
  • 8+ years’ related experience, ideally in a Business or IT Consulting-related field
  • Functional process and operational management

  • Brand and sales management, including planning and organising campaigns and events

  • Relationship Sales Enablement:
    • Drive client account plans
    • Manage the opportunity pipeline and CRM system
    • Manage client contracts
    • Measure client satisfaction
  • Team management: proactively manage the team(s) and hold them accountable for achieving agreed goals and objectives
  • Functional operations management: ownership of Marketing and Relationship Sales Enablement internal systems, plan and manage ABM activities, manage competitive bidding processes, improve tracking and reporting opportunities
  • Reporting: execution of marketing and sales reporting and lead generation activities, manage pre-sales and prospects timelines and milestones
  • Relationship management: develop and manage strong relationships across internal and external ecosystems
  • Client feedback: Manage client surveys to gain insight into client satisfaction levels
